Setting up delivery is one of the most important parts of selling physical products on Owode.
If your delivery is not configured properly:
- buyers won’t be able to place orders
- your products won’t reach the right people
- you will lose sales
This guide shows you exactly how to set up Seller-Managed Delivery (SMD) for your store.
Before You Start
With SMD:
- you receive orders on Owode
- you handle delivery yourself
- buyers choose delivery options during checkout

Step-by-Step: Setting Up Delivery
Step 1: Go to Shipping Settings
Open your Store Manager:

- Click Shipping
- Enable Shipping
Step 2: Set Processing Time
Set how quickly you can prepare orders.
Example:
- Ready to ship in 1 business days
👉 Recommendation:
Keep this realistic. Faster processing improves buyer trust.
Step 3: Select Shipping Type
Choose:
Shipping by Zone
This allows you to define delivery based on locations.
Step 4: Choose Your Delivery Zones
You will see all Nigerian states (36 + FCT Abuja).
Each state is a delivery zone.
Now decide:
👉 Where do you want customers to buy from?
⚠️ Important
If you do NOT set delivery for a state:
👉 Buyers in that state cannot order from you

Step 5: Add Shipping Methods
For each state:
- Click Add Shipping Method
- Select Flat Rate
Step 6: Configure the Method
Click Edit, then fill:
Method Title
Name of the delivery area
Example:
- “Lagere / Sabo (Ile-Ife)”
- “Within Oyo Town”
Cost
Your delivery fee
Example:
- ₦400
- ₦1,500
Description
Short explanation
Example:
- Delivery within Ile-Ife (1–2 days)
Step 7: Add Multiple Areas
Under one state, you can add multiple delivery options.
Example (Osun State):
- Lagere / Sabo — ₦400
- Osogbo — ₦1,200
- Ede — ₦1,000
👉 This gives buyers clear choices.
🔥 Do Not Set Only One Zone
If you only set your state:
👉 You are limiting your sales.
If someone in another state wants to buy:
👉 They won’t be able to checkout.
✅ What Smart Sellers Do
- Set at least 3–5 states
- Add multiple delivery areas per state
- Price delivery realistically
This increases your chances of getting more orders.
What Buyers See
At checkout:
- buyers select delivery option
- cost is shown clearly
- order is completed

Before going live, ensure:
